Retiree Dental Insurance
Maintaining good oral health becomes increasingly important as we age, as neglecting our teeth and gums can contribute to serious medical issues like heart disease and diabetes.1 That’s why CSEA Group Sponsored Retiree Dental Insurance, underwritten by MetLife, is here to help. Our dental insurance offers affordable coverage with MetLife’s Preferred Dental Program (PDP), featuring a nationwide network of dentists who offer reduced fees. You have the freedom to choose an in-network or out-of-network dentist,2 but keep in mind that out-of-network care will increase your out-of-pocket expenses.
Plan Details
Retirees may choose between two dental plans. Spouse and dependent coverage are available with both plans.
Choice 1:
- Diagnostic and Preventative Care
- Lower-cost plan for basic dental needs
- Covers a percentage of PDP fees after deductible
- Yearly individual maximum: $1,200
Choice 2:
- Extensive Dental Needs
- Plan for more comprehensive dental care
- Covers a percentage of PDP fees after deductible
- Yearly individual maximum: $2,000
Both plans have a $50 annual deductible per person up to a maximum of $150 per family per calendar year.

Based on internal analysis by MetLife, savings from enrolling in a dental plan will depend on various factors including how often participants visit the dentist and the costs for services received.

2Your out-of-network cost may be greater when you visit a dentist who does not participate in the MetLife Network. Savings from enrolling in a dental benefits plan featuring the MetLife Preferred Dentist Program will depend on various factors including the cost of the plan, how often participants visit the dentist, and the costs of services rendered.
Like most group benefits programs, benefit programs offered by MetLife and its affiliates contain certain exclusions, exceptions, waiting periods, reductions, limitations and terms for keeping them in force. You may be financially responsible for copayments, deductibles, or any other amounts in excess of those MetLife is required to pay for covered services as described in your dental certificate and/or policy. Ask your MetLife representative for costs and complete details.
